Earthers everywhere claimed vindication as scientists at DELVO concluded that water had once probably existed in copious amounts on Earth and could still exist underground.

Geodrome, a group that supports the view that mankind originated on planet Earth, holds that it was destroyed by ecological calamities wrought by economic forces that are being mimicked today on Mars.

Mare Dolan, a Geodrome spokesperson,  explained his reasoning.

“If you look at Martian civilization its pretty much what you’d expect if we’d be settled from another world,” said Dolan.  “The early Deka myths speak of Astrots floating over the desert and bringing life.  Its been understood to be a creation story for hundreds of years.  What if it were a story of a planet being settled by Earthlings fleeing a world that was self-destructing?  Earthlings who seeded and transformed this world?”

As evidence, Earthers offer the lack of records explaining the origin of technology and the lack of so-called “fossils” on Mars.

Skeptics argue otherwise.

“If you’re looking for an explanation, then the Global Wars seem to cover all bases to me,” said Dait Ooor, of the Vestigial Sciences Foundation.  “Everyone knows that Prok Gather was a madman who wanted to destroy all databases and give mankind a clean slate.  As far as fossils go, the Oral Sakes have given us numerous absurdities.  Are we also to believe that there were once hairy men  that walked on their knuckles?”

Dolan had a different view of Prok Gather.

“Prok Gather was a madman who was continuing the work of his father,” said Dolan.  “He wanted to destroy historical records to foster the illusion that he was a diety, descended from a long line of Martian gods.  If there were still people who remembered that the Earth had once been a habitable planet where mankind evolved from other species, his claims would carry less weight.  And we can’t just discount the Oral Sakes.  Not when so many scientific facts were found to be valid afterward.”

Ooor insisted this could also be accounted for.

“Yes, science had progressed before the Global Wars,” said Ooor.  “But not all of the Oral Sakes turned out to be factual.  For instance, the ninth planet.”

Dolan believes more discoveries are in the making to support his position.

“There’s something down there,” said Dolan.  “You can count on it.  And, the way things are going, we better learn from it.”
